Equipment Overview
[Prior to 2020]

Remote Automatic Equipment Power Control

The Synaccess netBooter™NP-02B and NP-02BH provide independent control of two outlets in a small, robust form factor. Manageable via TCP/IP network or direct serial connection and 1U brackets (optional) for mounting. Control power to your devices with the ability to fit just about anywhere. Automatic link monitoring provides unattended power-cycle rebooting of equipment when a link failure is detected. Now you don't have to dispatch a technician to reboot your equipment after a power line glitch or equipment "lock up".

The Synaccess netBooter sends periodic Ping packets to a specified IP destination. If the Ping response is not received in a configurable time frame then the AC power to the device is turned off; a minute later the power is restored and the device reboots. The netBooter software understands how to avoid false positive link tests by waiting a configurable period of time after a reboot to allow for link re-establishment, equipment reboot, or "other side" point-to-point link rebooting.

Connect802 highly recommends the netBooter appliance for any point-to-point link and any time the potential exists for a required equipment reboot at a location where a tech support engineer can't easily be dispatched or where a power location is difficult to reach (e.g. an attic crawl space or high-ceiling AC power connection).
