Refer to Notes at bottom for the MCS differences between the 802.11n, 802.11ac, and 802.11ax standards
Notes:
- 802.11n utilizes only MCS Index 0 through 7 with up to 3 spatial streams
- 802.11ac utilizes all the MCS Index values shown in the table above
- 802.11ax utilizes all the MCS index values however the Guard Interval (GI) values increase from 400ns to 800ns and from 800ns to 1600ns
- 802.11ax introduces MCS Index values 9 and 10 supporting 1024-QAM modulation
