i - directional

ma - locational

Talking About The Time Of Day, Sunrise, and Sunset



ʻōmaka - to rise, rising of the sun, source of a stream, budding of a flower

welo - to set, setting of the sun, to flutter or float as in the wind or in a stream

Mai ka ʻōmaka ʻana o ka lā ma Kumu-kahi ā ka welo ʻana a ka lā i Lehua

From the rising of the sun at Kumu-kahi to the setting of the sun at Lehua.

puka - to rise, as the sun; to come into sight; to pass through; appear
